About the ACR
Founded in 2020 in London, the Alliance of Responsible Collectors brings together collectors, foundations, and institutions determined to elevate ethical standards in art collecting.
Meeting of 12 collectors in London. Drafting of the first version of the Code of Conduct. Formal creation of the ACR as an international non-profit association.
First annual convention in Geneva, bringing together 180 participants. Adoption of the revised Code (v2.0). International media coverage.
1,500 members across 38 countries. Opening of regional offices in Paris, New York, and Singapore. Launch of the mentoring programme.
2,800+ members in 52 countries. FIRPCAM certification obtained. Code of Conduct v3.2 adopted at the Kyoto congress.
The ACR was born from a generation of collectors who refused the opacity of the art market. They envisaged a world where every acquisition, every conservation, every transmission is guided by ethical principles as rigorous as they are measurable.
Our vision is not utopian but pragmatic: to provide concrete tools — the Code, the network, the certification — to transform intention into verifiable action.
A transparent structure, designed to guarantee the independence and rigour of our mission.
